About Me
My professional bio and a little about my family
With over thirty years in the Real Estate industry I have weathered the industry’s good times and the bad; always maintaining a positive attitude, a smile, and the skills for getting the job done. My career has been enriched by a number of opportunities that have given me the professional depth and knowledge to encounter new conditions and challenges with confidence and solutions. My professional goal has always been to relieve my clients of the real estate “stresses” and to make the real estate experience excitingand pleasurable for all parties involved.
My real estate career started off in property management where I managed a rental complex in Ellicott City, Maryland. This was enough to get ”the real estate juices flowing” and I earned my Maryland Realtors license in 1978. I worked as an agent and manager assistant for Red Carpet Realty for the next six years, consistently receiving “top Producer”awards. I then joined the Firm of Vinson and Associates that later franchised with Century 21 and then ERA. I became Vinson’s Sales Manager with primary responsibility for overseeing the productivity of approximately100 agents. With numerous other responsibilities including managing an advertising budget, training, maintaining office morale when interest rates skyrocketed, and achieving a positive “bottom Line” for the broker, I became intimately familiar with the inner workings of the industry.
I however never lost my enthusiasm for working as an independent Realtor, and when Vinson sold his office to Long & Foster, I decided to rekindle my dream. Working with my partner, another Sue, we created, the “Two SooZ” and built a top producer team fueled by the respect of both our clients and peers. Always striving to improve and to innovate, we moved to RE/MAX Realty Group in 1997, an organization that provided us with an even stronger marketplace presence This is also where we created our first and still existing web site “Betterwayhome.com
I was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and moved to the Washington DC area after college. I married in1971 to a wonderful man from New York City. We (my husband Steve and myself) currently live in Gaithersburg with our 2 dogs. We have two sons; Brian, who works at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, and Michael, who has been working overseas as an energy software consultant since his graduation from Oklahoma State University.
